A Mediterranean ingredient like the fig has every right to be tried in a delicious cake beyond jam. You just have to imagine its thick and sweet taste between a moist slice of cake. THE RECIPE: Recipe for Fig Cake with Cream Cheese

  • In a bowl, mix together the oil and sugar.

  • Add the eggs and continue beating.

  • Then it remains to place the flour, walnuts, baking powder, vanilla and of course the figs in the mixture. When complete the addition mix lightly with spatula.

  • To complete the Recipe for Fig Cake with cream cheese transfer to a buttered and well floured form or even better with spray (find it here) and toast.

  • Bake in a preheated oven, 170 degrees in the air, for 55-60 minutes, checking the doneness with a toothpick.

  • We wait 10 minutes and unmold.

For the Ganache

  • mix the ingredients for the ganache and pour the contents over the cake when it has cooled.

  • If you want to serve it in style, like the one in the photo, spread the cream cheese, cut the figs into 4 and decorate it. You don't say it's difficult, but it's beautiful!

TIP: Remember to use breadcrumbs and non-stick oil spray for easier release.

Good luck!

Greece is a country where fig trees grow in every yard. You usually clean the yard and the sidewalks from the juicy figs that get dirty. Greece used to plant fruit trees on the streets, making sure there was food available for everyone. Learn to look at the trees on your sidewalk, they offer you food, shade and coolness, all they ask is that you water them when you pass by.....we love to take care of you!

Look up and love the nature that surrounds you.
